"Výlet" (Czech výlet) - in Czech, a trip. But, I'd say, výlet differs from a trip, you need to výlet the Czech way. For beer, on a train, with sandwiches.
That's exactly why we went to Rakovnik on a výlet, because they brew there one of those bottled beers I feel positive about - Bakalar. If you come and walk through shops - I recommend trying the honey special and the version with cold hopping.
Too bad the weather wasn't great, drizzling rain. We arrived by train.

Around the station - wilderness.

The city - is quite small, couple minutes - and you're almost in the center. Typical visual spam.

Some water exists.

Center is quite standard. One wide square and streets adjoining it.

In the center - everything most important.

Naturally, plague column.

Sometimes it's interesting to enter the gaps between houses.

There you find such artifacts.

Meat prices.

Buildings in the center, mainly, look like this.

Passed through the center, going a bit deeper into the city. Nice district outside the center.

Despite it being past ten, guy was just drawing the menu (which by Czech standards is a bit late, at 7 here everyone's been up for a while). By the way, this white on black in crooked letters in Czechia - in 100% of restaurants, live here a month and you stop noticing. First days it really caught the eye.

Somewhere they just wished us a good day. Kindnesses of small Czech towns.

How do ordinary Rakovnik residents live?

Naturally, drink their native beer by the crate.

Courtyard - wide, in good condition.

In this yard discovered a ship for kids and not only, Rakovnik has its own access to the sea.

Inside all sorts of things, very cool.

Houses around - well so-so. Is this a balcony?

Remember I complained about internet in Czechia? And here it's super fast (actually, very unlikely).

TYPO! In the word "kassa" in Czech there's only one s.

Returned to the center again. Everything most interesting turned out to be exactly in those little streets outside the center.

In Rakovnik the most famous thing - 2 towers. In Kaluga it was also like this, towers of the beginning and end of the city. Look, the local one is visible.

Around it's quiet and pleasant.

The tower itself.

Passage through it.

Suddenly :)

Rakovnik - is a hilly city, sometimes excellent views open up. But rarely.

Decided to have a snack in a "kavarna" (cafe). Cheap, angry. So-so.

Wall painting.

Second tower.

Museum nearby. Exhibitions seem to be about nothing.

But on museum territory lies this cool thing. City sign, 16th century.

Closer to the station - quiet little street by the river (not sure if it's a river).

Exactly here I understood one feature of Rakovnik. There are no people at all. Well really, silence, streets empty. In Russia at every horizontal bar 5 schoolkids would be hanging.

Time was pressing, seems we saw everything. Moving on.

City of Rakovnik wasn't particularly memorable, but there are features there too.
Perhaps the first thing that catches the eye - Rakovnik residents' love for decorating entrance spaces.
Especially popular are tin signs and beautiful house numbers.

Historical heritage is treated with care, they dig up and show.

Well-preserved old things are left in place.

Doors in the center.

House numbers, apparently, they made people make beautiful, but everyone did it differently.

What I didn't like in the center - overdid it with restoration, buildings seem like Chinese fakes.

Though in places it's nice.

If you move slightly away from the center - city is completely unremarkable.

As already said in the previous article, the most interesting can be found if you step aside.

Video rental!

Street signs - typical Czech, a bit annoying. Look at the details, the lantern and cracks.

In the tower found a keyhole.

Such exhibits also exist.

In one of the little streets discovered a writing enthusiast.

Beautiful blue, beautiful red. Agreed :)

That's all about Rakovnik, nothing more to know about it.
